Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.

All Choir programs are on vacation for the summer :-)

More information on Choir programs and dates will be posted when the church re-opens.

All are welcome to join the UMCE Adult Choir! The Choir sings every Sunday, September through June, serving as the primary vocal music leadership for our Traditional Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. The Choir is a welcoming community of adult singers who have the desire, interest and time for learning, rehearsing and singing.  We sing a wide variety of songs from Traditional to Contemporary Christian Songs.  You do not have to audition for the choir nor do you need to be a UMCE member to participate.  Anyone aged 14 or older is welcome to join…and we have a LOT of fun!

The Adult Choir rehearses Wednesdays 7:00–8:15 p.m. and gathers to prepare for worship with a warm-up rehearsal at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays.

Joyful Noise is our children's choir.  It is a great opportunity for children to serve in worship, have fun and learn quality sacred music and music fundamentals.  Joyful Noise provides beautiful music several times during the year including Christmas, Easter and Children’s Sunday.

Singing as part of a choir – especially in a church, is not always perceived to be a ‘fun’ activity. In fact some people may think of it as a chore! However, they couldn’t be more wrong. For children, there are not many things more valuable to their development. Obviously from a musical point of view, it is one of the most important activities that they can be involved in – even if they play other instruments. Singing is one of the most natural things that your body is designed to do!

Even if someone thinks that they aren’t very ‘good’ at singing – we can all do it. Everyone sings to themselves in the car, in the shower, along to the radio… we just need to be taught how to do it properly, and singing in a choir is a very good place to start. As well as the huge musical benefits, there are many transferable skills for children to learn as part of a choir – leadership, responsibility, teamwork, literacy and reading skills, and many, many more.

Ages 6-13 are welcome to join!  Please check the bulletin for schedules.

All you need to do is contact us and try us out. We would love you for to join us and you can be assured of a warm welcome whatever age you might be!  Please contact Lynne Tracy-Thim with any questions!
